INTRODUCTION

This presentation is aimed at enlightening this organization on the benefits of ethics and how it brings about business sustainability in the long run.

Profitability and sustainability is the desire of any company and I believe the best way to achieve this is by developing ourselves ethically and ensuring our day to day activities are guided by the principles of ethics.

From my experiences, I have discovered that there is really no shortcut to greatness, as there are principles and laws to be obeyed, hence, for us to have a smooth sail through life, we must recognize and follow these principles.

A large number of organizations tend to focus mainly on the bottom line; they set unrealistic targets for their workers and thereby encourage them to go through any means possible to achieve it. A company such as Enron is no longer functioning today as a result of their unethical practices such as misinforming the public on the true state of their finances, falsifying evidences and so on. It may appear that the company is doing well in the short term, but in the long run when all the wrong doings are exposed, they lose the trust of their shareholder’s and the public who are potential investors, lives will be destroyed because their employees will lose their jobs and the people involved will lose their reputation.

One of such principles is that of ethics which I will discuss succinctly to enable you see its relevance in building a sustainable organization.

As you know that the vision of this organization is “Becoming One Of The Top Ten In The Industry by the year 2020”, this can only be achieved if there is a strong cohesion between the resources and the organization and this cohesion is built when each resource is properly recognized and treated...
