Q 1.The major differences between the three phases of environmental movements include the nature of activities that were and are being conducted. In the first phase of environmental movements, the main aim was to achieve a high level of environmental protection. There existed no protests that were anti-industrial .The organizations and demonstrations started to appear in the second phase since there was a high level of environmental consciousness. In this wave, there was formation of many organizations such as Greenpeace and friends of the east. Conservation organization that were established formed the crucial part of the environmental movement and its expansion as the older group provided critical help to the organization formed during the environmental era. The modern day industry and capitalism was the bearer of the criticisms. The second phase was noticeable mainly in the countries that were industrialized. It is in this period that governments started implementing legislative laws that were to protect the environment. The third phase saw the development of some theories that showed the relationship between the environment and the economy. The phase involved countries that were developing and this saw the development of international policies. The environmental groups began to focus on global scale as opposed to previously were region based. Their missions and focus radically changed to accommodate more memberships and missions. This also came with more political opportunities such as increased access to legal services.
