Rachel Blount is a sports columnist and general assignment reporter for the Minneappolis Star Tribune. This article argues the line between the football’s innate violence and the checkbook barbarism and player bounties; when players get paid to injure other players. The author uses mostly player inteviews and individual stories to support her ideas. This article can be used to show that football cruelty and and the lack of solid safety rules and regulations ruins NFL player’s lives and leaves them helpless.

Sean Gregory is a Time staff writer who has covered sports extensively over the last decade. Gregory discusses the concequences of playing football, especially in the NFL. He uses a combination of player interviews and individual NFL statistics and player reports in the article. This could be very useful in that it provides examples and testimonies of actual football players that can be used to show that this issue of effects after football is not just a myth but a reality.
