Strengths-Opportunities

The strength of Ministop is that they have already started implementing product differentiation through incorporating fast-food items in the store. People will begin to view them as not just another convenience store, but also somewhat a fast food chain. Since they began to have their own brand ready-to-eat meals this gives them several opportunities like, placing more sit-down tables to target new customers who are interested in dining in for a while and maybe offering deliveries. Ministop opened many branches near CBDs and residential areas so with this, another opportunity could be delivering and this could really be a trend in these areas. Since Ministop started offering outsourced payment in some branches, maybe they could also venture in money remittance in the near future to target a new market.

Weaknesses

Ministop should invest in Research and Development by developing more own brand items, not just in the ready-to-eat food but maybe also the other things they sell. Although they have already established products with their own brand, they will need to have a wider variety of products. For example creating own brand cookies, chips, candies or office supplies.
