Executive Summary

Huawei is a company that is an innovator in their industry. They are poised to rise to the top of the telecommunications industry. At the same time, the company is facing challenges and adversity. Expanding into different and new markets, such as western markets, and displaying a positive image are challenges that Huawei is currently facing. The company is a great technological innovator but the company needs to become an agent of change when it comes to transparency. In order for Huawei to become the leader in industry the need to be, they must embrace change and change the way they currently do business in the world.

Problem Identification

The case study points out many different problems that pose challenges to Huawei as a company. Mergers and acquisitions is one problem that poses an issue for Huawei. These novel factors create ferocious market conditions, what Kim and Mauborgne (2005) call a Red Ocean environment.
