Abstract

Every day Comanche Peak and other Nuclear Power Plants like it are at risk of threats, hazards and natural disasters. In order to respond, mitigate and recover following an incident there is essentially a plethora of processes that must be undertake in order for each respective aspect to be carried out in the most efficient way possible. This paper will attempt to detail these processes in a step by step fashion so that the understanding of said processes will be much easier to be interpreted.

This paper will detail the policies and procedures that are currently in place in order to protect the Comanche Peak Nuclear power plant. More specifically, the document will give the reader a more realistic view of the policies and procedures that are currently in place for the purposes or preparedness and response. This document furthermore gives the reader a behind the scenes glance at the true processes in which it takes to create and implement new policies and procedures.

The document furthermore will go in detail as to threats that are faced by this facility, not only on a daily basis, but possible future threats of attacks as well. How to prepare for the various types of threats as well as how to respond to the threat and mitigation procedures that are in place in the event of an attack will be reviewed in this paper. Hazards this facility faces and again look at who the facility prepares, responds and mitigates any damages will also be reviewed. Lastly, the affect that natural disasters has on this facility and what plans are in place to prepare, respond and mitigate will too be reviewed.

Other areas that will be reviewed through this document are organizations involved in preparedness and response as well as their responsibilities and their respective jurisdictions. In light of any possible...
