Dante’s Inferno is a poem written by Dante Alighieri. It was published in 1317. The Book was written in fourteenth century as an epic poem. Dante was born in Florence Italy in 1265. He died on September 14, 1321 in Rivenna Italy. His full name was Durante Degli Alighiera. He was simple called Dante. Dante lost his mother when he was younger and his father by the time he was in his twenty.

Dante was from lower nobility. Dante had and arranged marriage to Gemma Donati when he was 12 years old. . Gemma was a family friend. They were wed around 1285. Dante was not in love with his wife but with another woman. Her name was Beatrice Portinari. Dane had a love from afar with Beatrice and she would inflame his writing latter on when he would write about Paradiso. Beatrice died in 1290 and Dante wrote Vita Nuova of his tragic love for Beatrice. Dante has five children with Gemma. They had sons Jacopo, Pietro, Giovanni and Gabrielle and daughter Antonia. Dante studied philosophy and the machination of the political scene in Florentine. He was banned for life from his place of birth by the group Black Guelph party. He was involved in political affairs. He was in favor of separation of Church and State. His writing was one of the first religious works not written in Latin

The Poetic structure added cadence and rhyme and could almost be memorized easier. The introduction of familiar concepts and characters helped the intended reader bridge character traits to consequence. There is answered, a fundamental need for coherence in the world. If I am or do this, then I am or deserve that. There is a beauty in this poem as a work of art, but there are limits of every medium.
