Abstract

The teaching process has evolved from the days of just showing a video or using the overhead projector to use of state of art facilities in the current era. The advancements in video technology in the past decade have caused educational institutes to consider their benefits as learning tools.

Creative classroom teaching process is currently being adopted by many educational institutes for better understanding of the subjects. YouTube is a popular online video sharing site for both scholarly and non-scholarly communication. It plays a major role in enhancing the process of education by providing a better teaching and learning process. YouTube videos help to provide a better understanding of the subject since it is a combination of visuals and audios.

Survey was conducted by non probability convenience sampling method on 224 students and 30 faculty members. The purpose of the survey was to study the influence of YouTube videos among the college students for learning and how the YouTube aided the faculty to teach in a comprehensive way.

The results indicates that the data from student’s questionnaire states that the YouTube videos make classroom learning interesting & help them in project works and to gain knowledge about the practical application of the subject in an interesting way. YouTube videos provide a strong foundation of the subject to the students and hence it is recommended for a course.
