The security controls in place at the TXJ companies were the firewalls, anti- virus, WEP keys and the Kiosks in place throughout the companies many stores, also the many hand held wireless devices that were being used when checking transactions for customers. There are weaknesses everywhere in all the stores, with the biggest being the firewalls, and the employee’s simply not knowing to check and see if their station was up to date. The many access points throughout all of the stores left a very big window for hackers and who ever wanted to steal information from the company, whether it was a small thing such as a username and password, to a very big thing such as transferring funds to another account, or to simply retrieve credit card information for future use. A big reason for these weakness’s is simply the company did not the

follow the code of ethics and obey the rules ads regulations set up by the credit card companies to prevent things of this nature from happening like preventive maintenance.
The tools and technologies that could have used to prevent the theft and data loss were simple things to fix the weaknesses. First as a large company I would have had a network set-up to monitor the system at all times, even run some programs to see if the system could be hacked, and how secure the system was. Secondly...
