2.3 - Discussion: Your Technology Vision

The main point I am able to make of this is that change is accelerating. Kurzweil’s perception that Humans just cannot keep up with the pace of change that their technology has created. Elaborating on the need of Humans to improve on their intelligence and that also include technology. It's technology to keep up with technological change. He also speculates that Artificial intelligence will exponentially rise and be able equal to our cognitive skills; how we feel and how we express our emotions.

It’s very difficult to completely ignore all these theories he has purported, because over 85% of every prediction he has made have already actualized. This percentage of accuracy gives him so much respect amongst scholars when it comes to artificial intelligence. The main concern I have with him keeping his credibility as time goes bye is that, there is one thing for the technology to be there, and it is another thing for Humans to accept all these changes that are coming to us in the near future.

I absolutely believe as a student that there will be so much advancement in technology as time goes bye, but I think there will come a time; where there will be a change in the perspective about wanting more and more technology and Humans will start to value their existence and being complete humans rather than been genetically modified.

All we can do is to stay informed, use these technologies to our advantage where applicable; be it at school, work or even at home, but not be blindsided by the level at which technology advanced by the day until it gets to where we don’t have control over them any longer.
