Executive summary
This report seeks to evaluate the internal communication barriers between the staff and management at GSP Bank. It was found that poor interpersonal communication skills between managers and employees have lead to a stressed, unsatisfied and demotivated staff, lack of confidence in the managers and low job engagement for employees. The survey conducted revealed insights to the communication problems within GSP Bank. Further analysis of the data collected from the survey revealed that managers do not consult employee’s when making a business decision. It was also dsicovered that employee’s did not find their managers appraochable, however the managers perceived themselves to be approachable. This report recomends that GSP Bank should promote interpersonal understanding, promote trust and group efficacy amongst managers and their employees, managers should encourage upward communication and that managers should seek for employee’s opinion and participation in decision making.
