In today’s business environment no organization is free from issues on increasing workers

productivity levels. Worker productivity is needed to help the organization function and reach its full

potential within the global market place. When employee’s productivity increases generally the workers

morale and motivation are boosted by the management team and the organization culture. Manager’s play

a critical role in the way workers respond on the job and how the quality of work is produced. Managers

must be able to motivate the staff members to perform well on the job and give them feed back for good

work done.

Factors that affect productivity on the job includes: material quality, people skills, system and

procedures, equipment and tools, knowledge of the employee, and management skills. Under the correct

leadership satisfying work can be conductive to produce quality productivity results. On the other hand

managers who exhibit unmanaged skills or destructive behavior can influence the work flow greatly.

This will produce low quality work behaviors among the staff. Other behaviors associated with a

managers tone will include showing rude behavior which can lead to mistrust and fear that can lead to

negative impact on productivity and will increase costs at the organization.

Management must follow employment laws that will not place the company in any jeopardizing

situation that can lead bad media, lawsuits, fines or sanctions imposed by governmental agencies. This

could lead to such actions would include: sexual harassment, hostile work environment, unfair

treatment, sexism, racial tension, unfair ethical policies, and any discriminatory practices that violates
