Why Buyer?

Commodity (car-body) Buyers are the counterpart of Material Bid Coordinators to fill-in and commit on material prices on all commodities not covered by Strategic Buyers.

Buyers relate with customer and suppliers. And deal with each and every organizational department. Buyer is considered to be important part of supply chain process to procure raw materials in order to run a business unit. They have the purchasing power and make a product valuable by taking right material decision. Buyers have better brand awareness. A buyer generates income to an organization.

General Description

* Manage purchase contracts for projects within his scope

* Negotiate with suppliers and issue purchase orders or entire frame contracts for dedicated projects

* Ensure material delivery and facilitate the execution of the purchase contract in coordination with the project team

* Optimize number of suppliers and expedite suppliers and support expediting Team to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time.

* Manage the purchase order in the ERP systems

* Commodity Buyers contribute to the identification of material requirements, estimation of allowable costs per systems, provision of material reference costs, issuance of RFQ to suppliers, selection of offer, creation of specific contractual packages, assessment of opportunities and risks in the supply and finally a sign-off a final Bill of Material for specific commodity.

* Responsible to develop, keep track and stick to the Sourcing Plan for his commodity.
