Internet Fair use Policy

Introduction: Company (hereafter referred to as Company) encourages employees where feasible, to use the Internet to further the goals and objectives of Company. Company allows staff to have access to minimal personal or recreational use of the internet. This reasonable personal use of Company’s IT Resources including internet should be considered as a privilege and is not to be abused.

The Internet serves many useful purposes in the organization, so preserving the bandwidth and maintaining security is essential. Company respects the privacy of employees but reserves the right to monitor internet use, control internet access and viewing internet usage logs.

Purpose: This policy outlines to establish general rules and guidelines for the Company employees for use of internet and email for personal use. The primary purpose of the policy is to establish the integrity and efficiency of the available bandwidth and to minimize productivity losses that result from non-work related Internet use. Employees abusing their internet privileges, cause clogged bandwidth, degraded system performance, and over-consumption of finite computing resources that can indirectly reduce the productivity of non-abusing employees also.

Scope: This policy applies to all employees, contractors and consultants using computer equipment and network resources owned or leased by Company and have been granted the right to use the company's internet access and to any other person who is notified that this Company Policy applies to them.
