Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Many multinational corporations operate in countries characterized by extreme poverty and inequality, inadequate or dysfunctional institutions, and undemocratic political systems. To what extent should multinational corporations contribute to improving social conditions in the economies in which they operate?

* Reputation Institute conducted a study that found 42% of how people feel about a company is based on their perceptions of the firm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and then ranked the firms with the best CSR.

Socially Responsible - In May 2013, The Volkswagen of America Foundation, donated 250,000 to the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity to assist with the disaster relief efforts following the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma.

Socially Responsible - In Chattanooga, Tn. the VW factory proved it is a leader in sustainability, energy-efficiency and eco-friendly measures by winning the (LEED) “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” Award.
