Learning is the process of acquiring any new skill, knowledge, behavior, taste, or habit. Learning has to do with change acquired through experience. This paper studies a personal learning experience in relation to aspects of the learning theory.

Learning Experience

I have a dislike for alcohol, especially when it’s at a party or an event. I have come to feel alcohol is not need to have a good time or nice evening. My dislike for alcohol developed from one evening that started out harmless. I can remember a formal learning experience I had as if it happened last a few hours ago. I was excited to be graduating high school and decided to have some fun with a few friends of mine. I believe I made an unsound decision, going out on the town without having a solid plan. Not having a good going out plan or back up plan usually can turn a harmless night into a horrible one. Everyone was having a really good time with one another, laughing, talking, drinking and just good fun. By the end of the night, I knew it was getting to the time I wanted to be home by so I asked who was ready to go home. One friend responded that they were ready to leave and so was another. Without thinking about anything but being in my bed I thought lets go. I didn’t stop to weigh the consequences of what we had done and was about to do. I should have called my older brother, who I knew was getting off of work and was going to be heading home. Instead I ignored my feeling and got into the care with my friends that we going home. The choice I made was not a smart one, but I would have to live and deal with it all the same. Getting ready to graduate high school, was the age I was excited and wanted to have a good time. The problem that could and would follow wasn’t anything that was at the forefront of any of our mines.
