KitKat 4.4 (Android) vs iOS 7 (Apple)

With the new releases of mobile devices, the competition grows bigger. These days Android and iOS phones are in the spotlight of the media and their end users. The debate of iPhone users and Android based phone users seems to be endless.

With the improvement of both platforms, they start to feel more alike. Not a long time ago, Android’s operation system was way behind compared to iOS. But nowadays, a lot of people are switching their iPhones with Samsung Galaxies and HTC Ones because iOS is getting old, there are simply no extraordinary advances anymore about Apple Devices.  Apple took the criticism and the loss of clients and updated to iOS 7.

One update of the new updates is the Control Center, it’s a window you can access by an upwards swipe from the bottom of the display. This feature allows you to see the most common used settings with just a single swipe instead closing apps. Android devices were the first ones to have this handy feature integrated.  Even though they were the first ones this feature is a little bit better designed on iPhone devices.

A similar function Apple probably looked up from Android is the notification drawer, it’s basically the same as the settings window I explained above. This is still what Android is known for and they still are better at this concept compared to Apple gadgets.

The multitasking feature has been refined with the update of iOS 7, which now is only a little better on iPhone devices than the KitKat.  But they still both lack on one thing - something when you go from one app to the other they refresh the content which most of the time is undesired.

When it comes to the camera, most of the people still prefer the iPhone. The photo editing applications on the KitKat system are quite lacking and here speaking I talk about my experience. IPhones are a way wider selection of great photo editing apps and generally take better pictures.
