Organization behavior management is defined as the behavior analysis within an organizational setting. Antecedent, behavior and consequence may have a connection to most behavior-based interventions used by manager within a healthcare setting.

An antecedent is an incentive that precedes a behavior which encourages the performance of an individual’s behavior. Goal setting may help to prompt organizational safety. Consequence is an action that may follow a given behavior and consequences can have many different forms that addresses behavioral feedback and manager’s acknowledgement of a job well done, this maybe another reason, an individual action will have consequences that will motivate behavior.

In general, group behavior feedback will involve measuring and targeting the behavior and then managers or focus group will share information in reference to the behaviors within the organization to all individuals or groups that it may pertain to. This kind of feedback has been shown to address and successfully increase safety behavior and help to reduce at-risk behavior within the business unit. (Frasier,2014)

Behavior within an organization when influenced by intrinsic contingencies may have a particular effect on individual’s behavior and consequences always will vary (rewarding individuals, and feedback from other sources within the business unit) may not be a contingency for motivation of an individual. For example, when older physicians learn how to use electronic data exchange, eventually will find it to be more efficient and reliable than ordering prescriptions by hand this reduce handwriting error or misinterpretation of the physician’s hand writing intern this often takes time to adjust to the intrinsic qualities that can reinforce one’s behavior. Individuals need to engage in a certain behavior often to experience the benefits and to avoid the negative consequences.
