Part 1: View and Analysis

The law field is a very demanding field to aspire to be in, by both demeanor and attire. The three slide presented for a professional law firm showed several people very well dressed and seemingly well put together. The subjects appear to be professionals and suited for their field.

What made the individuals appear to be professional is that each individual appeared very well put together and carried themselves in a professional manner. No extreme or outrageous attire or makeup, no facial jewelry or visible tattoos, and each individual was very well groomed.

As a professional in the law field, appearance is key. One must dress for success and present themselves in the best light possible. Looking like you came straight from the beach, or just rolled out of bed would come across as very unprofessional. Someone looking un-kept or with outlandish makeup would also not present themselves in a professional manner.

Part 2: Personal Reflection and Connection

Appropriate attire for an individual in the law field depends on the situation at hand. While in the office and not meeting with clients, one may be able to wear casual business attire.

Casual Business attire according to Sally Kane, “should be clean, pressed and wrinkle free, without holes or frayed areas. Small logo’s (Polo, Izod etc.) are acceptable; pictures and large promotional information are not acceptable on shirts or slacks” (2016).

However, on the occasion one must meet with a client or present themselves in court, an attorney is required to wear professional/formal business attire. An attorney should also keep on hand in their office a set of professional/formal business attire for any unexpected court appearances.
