ACTIVITY SHEET FOR TASK 1 – REPORT

This report is intended to determine the factors that affected the increase in the number of first day enrollees in the College of Management and Accountancy for the first semester of Academic Year 2014-2015. The report will be divided into two parts: the facts and probable reasons why there is an increase in the number of first day enrollees.

Last year, the College of Management and Accountancy had a total of 7,550 enrollees with 557 first day enrollees. The difficulty in the process took the whole enrolment to finish in three weeks. However, this year with the new method proposed by the research department on how to improve the enrolment process, the increase in the number of first day enrollees went up to almost 200% that is 1,114 from the 8,750 total number of enrollees. This increase in the first day of enrolment indicated that the enrolment process is indeed effective but there are a couple other reasons why enrolment had increased this year.

One of the primary reasons why enrolment in the business college this year increased is the boost in the percentage fraction of employment in the business industry. Financial institutions are as well increasing in number with several commercial banks expanding in different parts of the city to the rural area. Second, commercial buildings are being built in the new business centre of Iloilo City that signals a higher rate of employment opportunities in the next five years. Third, in the business sector, there are a less number of college graduates that sidetracks from their concentration and are more likely to get a job closely related to their degree. And fourth, business graduates tend to stay and work in the country rather than apply for a job abroad.
