Assignment 4 Analysis of the Bank Data

In this short report, the banking data would be analysed to find out if something can be got from the data.

There are totally 60 of the data that will be analysed in the report. First of all, the place that where the customer is from. The following chart shows the percentage of the place where the customer comes from.

From the chart above, it is able to know that the customers came from the four cities and for each city there is about 25% of the customers. No obvious difference has been found from this part.

Then the account balance at the end of last month has been analysed. Then mean of the account balance is $1499.87 with the standard deviation of $596.90. At the confidence level of 95%, the confidence interval of the balance will be (1345.67,1654.06). Then the analyse has been applied to the customer from each city. It is able to find that the customer from Atlanta will have higher balance of $1879.65, which is higher than the average level of the balance. And the customer from Cincinnati has lower level of average balance which is $1281.38.

For the usage of ATM transaction in the last month, the average number is 10.3 with the standard deviation of 4.30. The range of the numbers of the usage of ATM varies from 2 to 20, which is really a large range. This means that there is still a lot of things should be done to make people use the ATM in their daily needs. The average number of customers’ usage of bank service is 4.42, with the standard deviation of 1.98. Analysing the numbers of usage for bank service in each city, Erie have relatively higher numbers of usage of the bank service, which is the mean of 5.15.

Among the 60 customers, only 26 customers have the debit card. The following chart shows the percentage. 43% of the customers has a debit card. Thus, there are still some space for the bank to educate our customers to use the debit card.
