External world media is such a distant notion to us australians, as we mainly really on our usual forms of informative media, such as the nightly news or the local paper. Discovering a different perspective through researching foreign media will hopefully give me a different perspective and hopefully a more informed perspective.

Relaying on my instincts to decipher through the bias and the informative i hope to analyse the issue of overpopulation in a more open sourced way than what I am use to. Hopefully i will begin to understand the sociological issue in a different light.

Ved goes onto explain in his article how the problem is the underlying polices of a stoic government. He believes that the problem lies within the notion of the overpopulation being a symbol of power rather than a hindrance upon the nation. He dives into talking about how the population policies have only been recently reviewed and were last really discussed in the early sixties.

He also delves into how the sterilization program of the mid 70’s and the overall ethical debates of the limited child policies being thrown around government. This is a sensitive subject and Ved approaches it very carefully.

Through out the majority of the piece Ved remains factual, carefully presenting the facts, not trying to be to emotive. At the end, drawing to his conclusion he delves into bias a bit more emotively. But I believe he cant be blamed as this would be a sensitive subject for an Indian writer.
