Law Enforcement Agencies

There are many similar function, responsibilities and duties of the Local Law Enforcement agencies such as: Making sure there are routine patrols around the neighborhoods, investigate in crimes that occur, implement traffic laws, Detain law violators, supervisor the crowd, public events and even the big parades that take events, and help issue special licenses and permits. In the Sheriff’s office they may participate in duties in some of the same but higher risk such as: attend civil proceedings, court room attendance, and work with the coroner’s office. The Sheriff’s office also deal with the complaint calls, traffic stops, patrol the areas, participate in the high crime areas to help keep vigil patrols. They have to help up hold the law like any other officer of the law and go by the State laws which cannot be overridden.

Some of the duties of the State Law Enforcements are similar to the Local Law Enforcement but dealing with higher risk people. Their duties and functions will be to provide body guard service and escort to the governor and vice governor, secure the area they live in. The State investigates crimes that involve fires of any kind and homicide cases, but mainly the similar cases as any other law official. In looking at the difference between the State Police they provide the investigation for murders and arsons within their own lab of Forensic testing. In dealing with the Local departments they seek assistance from the State agencies. There are three Federal Law Enforcement Agencies which are the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), which uphold the laws pertaining to the United States.
