Stop the Killing

Green Peace is an organization that is in a fight to save our lives. Global Warming is a real problem in our world today. Going green is on most every one’s mind. Huge companies along with the individual households seem to be concerned with the fact that we as a planet are killing ourselves with pollutants.

According to the Green Peace Organization, fossil fuels account for more than 80% of the global warming problem. This has changed the Earths’ temperature thus causing thousands of animal species to relocate, or will become extinct. The burning of coal and oil are killing millions of people. While we are concerned about inhaling second hand smoke from cigarettes, we need to be concerned with continually inhaling the toxins from coal and oil.

As with BP’s oil spill last year in the gulf, it had a tremendous impact on the communities along the gulf line. These communities rely on the gulf to earn a living and provide for their families. Even though BP took full, responsibility for damaging effects on the marine life and cleaned up their mess, saying I am sorry is not going to prevent this from happening again if they continue to drill in the ocean. Green Peace has taken a stance that this is unnecessary. Companies such as this are harming our planet. They want us to find alternate solutions to stop the drillings for oil and the burning of coal.

The question of the day is “Is this a moral matter?” There are large numbers of people who say that is a moral matter. The consensus is that we are responsible for our planet. Even though we may not have 100 % control over our environment, we do have control as to what we put in the air and in our water. Just as you have large numbers of people, who say it is our moral responsibility we have those who say it is not.
