The human resources department in any company has changed, it used to be many years ago they would do the hiring and firing, making sure everyone overall had received all the proper training that was needed in order to do the job. The human resources as a whole as changed considerably since those times. Human resource departments still need to make sure that each and every employee has the proper training that it takes to do the job as well as all the hiring and firing that go on in the company. Human resource departments have more responsibilities now that include the legal aspects of everything. Human Resource departments has to make sure that each and every employee feels safe in their job, which means human resource employees have to make sure that there is absolutely no harassment of any type in the work place. For example, if there is a company email system then it becomes part of the human resources responsibility to make sure that there are only emails with appropriate content being sent about the company and to each and every single employee as well. Employees in then human resources department has to think about other people when looking over thins such as emails, simply because even though they may not find it offensive they have to think about how another employee will think of the email or content and stop the email or talk to the person that sent out the email and hopefully not have to take further action because of the content, to make the person understand why the content was offensive (Giuliano, 2008).

Human Resource departments not only have the legal obligation to the employees of the company but they are also involved the safety of the employees. Human resources is in charge of making sure all employees receive adequate equipment to makes sure where they are working has safe conditions that makes sure they are safe.
