“Using educational technology tools to improve language and communication skills for ESL students is a about a former International student conducting research on six foreign students to see how the different technologies help them communicate effectively”.

Using educational technology tools to improve language and communication discuss the challenges that foreign students have trying to understand and speak the English language. Several studies are discussed about how foreign students use technology to improve their language and communication skills.

The purpose of this business research is to gain an understanding of how international students use technology like the Internet to learn to communication skills outside of the structure of ESL class. Some of the students used chat rooms, web-based discussion boards, ESL websites, software programs and Internet dictionary.

During the investigation several problems was experienced. There was not enough time to conduct the interviews. The schedules of each student were different so scheduling interviews times was difficult. It was hard to find participants because many of the foreign students believed that their English was not good enough for an interview. An observation method was unable to be used to collect data because of the topic. The collection method that was used was individual interviews from six different international students. The interviews lasted as long as 30 to 45 minutes. The interview made sure that the students were comfortable while conducting the interviews. He asked about their families and what they were studying. A series of question was asked to each student and many of them gave similar answers.
