This scenario show how one man can make a difference but the unknown of going public scares many of Gene One employees. The uncertainty of going public, the not so sure Don Ruiz, and the potential of losing it all is the fear that most of Gene One are experiencing. In this scenario, there are issue and opportunity that Gene One can capitalize on for example, offering training to it senior member on the procedure and expectation of going public, and the rules and regulation of the SEC. The uncertainty of stakeholders for example the employees, vendors, and interest group to rally behind Gene One and Don Ruiz vision of going public. The ethical dilemma that Don Ruiz is faced is he. Don Ruiz has to have some sort of accountability to his employees and the company Gene One. With his inability to lead, make Gene One a not so desirable company to invest. To overcome this problem, Don Ruiz must have a commitment to his senior staff and to the employees of Gene One by offer IPO course to the senior staff and e-learning training to the employees. By doing this action, this will show that Don Ruiz is serious about going public and his intentions. There are many goals here and the first is to have 40% growth in 36 months. To accomplish this action, Don Ruiz and Michelle Houghton have to create an action plan within the first three months with the aid of Terri Robertson. Finally, within the first month, Gene One senior staff must create a new mission statement that will reflex the new attitude that Gene one lacks. If Gene One is to be Successful, Don Ruiz must take charge and find suitable solutions to this current problem.
