With all the different type of business that companies do; planning could be considered the most important task of any management team. In the planning stage all the functions are to be delegated with the rest of the workforce; this is also where the standards are to be set. Boeing Corporation is a multi-national company with roughly 157,000 employees scattered in almost 90 countries (Datamonitor, 2010). Since Boeing is a large company; it is necessary that a well-planned set of functions be delegated and followed. In this paper, we are going to evaluate the planning function of management. Moreover, we are going to analyze the influence that legal issues, ethics, and corporate social responsibilities have had on the management team.

Boeing Company is the top aerospace company in the world that manufactures commercial jetliners and other military equipments (Datamonitor, 2010). Boeing also manufactures satellites, electronic and defense systems, rotorcraft, launch vehicles, missiles, and other advanced equipment. The planning strategy that they use is what led Boeing to the top. Because of this, Boeing has one of the best reputations and is keen on using the four functions to their limit and beyond. They owe a lot of their success to good planning and thorough decision-making.

Ethical, Legal, and Social Responsibility

Boeing, although successful; still has not escaped some of the ethical issues that have threatened their image. Perhaps the most important issue of all is the concern of public safety and goals. There are two great issues that the company is dealing with, which are the public concern plus the state of the environment (Mcnerney, 2006).
