Every generation of people is different in important ways. Since the beginning of the century, there are three main generations that we can talk: Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y also called Echo Boomers, Millennials or Internet Generation. Generation Y are primarily children of the Baby Boomers and were born between 1981-1995. Generation X was born between 1964-1980. There was a big progression between Baby boomers and Y Generations.

In France, Generation Y is a group of 13 millions of people and is 20% of the French population which is more than the last X’s generation. The Y’s one is a technical generation that people call “Web 2.0”, because of the access in faster communication or creation tools that the last generation could never dream about. Gen Y is very good in computers because they have grown up with it. When people wrote a book or an article in the ‘70s, they had to use a typewriter and then found an editor which made the publication uncertain. Today, everybody can use a computer and write online (blog or website) everything he or she wants and everybody will be able to see it at any time.

The television, one of the big innovation of the world, first appeared in the ‘60s and made a difference between the two generations: Baby Boomers and Gen Y. The new Gen Y has grown up with television. However, the parents of Gen Y, Baby Boomers, have discovered the television when they were 10 years old. In the culture the Gen Y, a lot of new types of broadcasts, movies have appeared like cartoons, 3D movies and an increase in the development of special effects which were out of people minds a score ago. But there is also an increase in the violence and sex on movies.

The generation of Y is more tolerant, less radical and is not afraid on what is different than the Baby Boomers. This is not a racism’s generation like the Generation X in the ‘60s in America. They are open-minded and they travel a lot. One of the most common pastime in the Gen Y is...
