The three decades that I have chosen for this analysis paper are 1950, 1960, and 1970. I chose these three decades because I feel that they were some very influential decades. These three decades I personally feel had some really significant changes in the area of technology. Although the 50s saw some great changes throughout the decade, there are a few areas of technology that I believe have shaped society in which we live today. Some of these areas include the invention of the integrated circuit, the computer modem, and the microchip. The 60s have been described by historians as the decade that has the most significant changes in history. The 60s ended a decade of amazing firsts with space travel, the first computer mouse and Random Access Memory (RAM) was invented. The last decade that we will explore is 1970. This decade brought about many more changes as well as technology advances. In this decade we saw the invention of the first daisy-wheel printer, the floppy disk was invented, and the LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display) was invented. I feel that the technologies that affected our society the most would certainly have to be the invention of the floppy disc, the microprocessor, and the Ethernet. These inventions would prove to have great impacts throughout the 20th century, on into the 21st century, and o into our future.
