Perspective on Health Care

The purpose of this paper is to give one taught and perspective on today’s health care industry. Before 1920 doctors did not know much about diseases to provide and treat patients then, as a result more people died from the lack of knowledge and medicine. The more doctors gain knowledge on diseases the higher the bill, resulting in what is known today as health care insurance. We can say for certain that health care premiums are not going to plunge; In fact they are in the rise. Looking back at the history of health care one can certainly say that it has come a long way; something I find interesting is the treatment of injuries and sickness compared to the 1900s. For example, the soldiers of the past conflicts like The Civil War or The Revolutionary War. In current times one can surely bet that more than half of the soldiers who sustained injuries or sickness would have survived and lived from something as small as the flu, or a flesh wound that got way out of control with infection. In today’s conflict soldiers sustaining injuries have a higher percentage of survival because of today’s technology and more advanced medical equipment and supplies to treat them on the battlefield; Knowing firsthand the importance of medical supplies and equipment in the battlefield in my tenure with the United States Army and served in three conflicts as a Medical Logistics Senior Adviser. The timely process and shipment of medical equipment and supplies to remote sites and key personal such as in flight surgeons and combat ground medics was a daily routine. Most of medical supply and equipment have multiple NSN (National Stock Number) or medical item number so it was my job to insure the combat medics and EVAC (evacuation) sites was supplied with the write item to insure the wounded had what the needed as well as insure all recall items and QC (quality control) messages were pushed out in timely...
