The goal of a team is effectively to work together to be successful. The team has to communicate with each other, look at the goals of the team, and collaborate on the plan and work together to execute. To do this, there are many obstacles that will come up that will need to be addressed by the group. Goals, plan, execution, focus, and functionality of the individuals need to be brought together to help the team. A group is defined as two or more individuals, interacting and interdependent, who have come together to achieve particular objectives. Groups can be either formal or informal (Robbins and Judge, 2007).

Training can provide unique opportunities for organizations to prevent fraud and improve ethical practices among employees. Training can help to educate, raise awareness, and increase short and long-term company profits. WorldCom was a classic example of failed corporate governance, accounting abuses, and plain greed that could have been prevented through appropriate management and employee training. This paper will provide an example of a training plan that could have helped prevent the demise of WorldCom. WorldCom lacked effective leadership and management. WorldCom needed leaders to develop a clear vision of the company’s goals, motivate the organization to meet those goals, monitor results and resolve the issues that the company was facing. If WorldCom had developed and implemented an effective leadership and management development training program it may have led to further success at WorldCom rather than its failure.

Business organizations face many challenges like competition, decreased profits, raising employee performance, enhancing leadership, increasing customer base, allocating resources, delivering better service, increasing efficiency, increasing shareholder value, reducing costs, and customer satisfaction (Sharma, 2009).
