Fleming Island HS, 5A

Name and contact info of his position coach

Christopher Bullock

The Gators look to have secured another prospect for the 2010 recruiting class. Ian Silberman, an offensive tackle out of Fleming Island high school in Orange Park, has said he is 100%, no questions asked going to honor his verbal commitment to play for the Florida next season. He is in the process of finishing an early graduation, and anticipates being in Gainesville in January. Silberman is ranked by ESPNU as the number-2 offensive tackle in the country, and the 22nd best overall prospect.

Silberman has not made any other college visits and does not plan to. He said he has built a strong relationship with the Florida coaching staff, and has been impressed by the team unity in the Gator locker room. Although he is being recruited as an offensive tackle, Silberman noted the success recent Gator lineman, like the Pouncey twins and Matt Patchan have had lining up on both sides of the ball, and that he will be happy to play anywhere Coach Meyer decides to plug him in. Silberman stands 6’5” tall, weighs 256 pounds and runs a 5.06-second 40-yard dash, and it is easy to see why ESPNU has called him possibly the most athletic lineman in the 2010 recruiting class. Silberman’s Fleming Island Golden Eagles are undefeated and ranked 1st in the state, but have a couple big tests coming up next week against Seabreeze high school and in the season finale against Orange Park high school.
