Music: Heavy Metal, Rap and Classical

What is more relaxing to you on a hot summer day? How about going to one of your favorite concert down by the water with some of your good friends after a hard day’s work to listen and relax to your favorite tunes? Sounds satisfying, doesn’t it?

Music has been around for many centuries and will probably be around for many more. Without music, the world would be very naked, cold and quiet. Music can set a rhythm for a long day at work, the mood for a date, for a party and for your whole life. By evaluating and breaking down all types of music, I believe that is how a person helps define their life. Throughout history divisions in music led to divisions in our society where people judge one another on a variety of aspects; whether it be the clothes they wear or the people they socialize with. Look at three categories of music: Heavy Metal, Rap and Classical, every group has a certain stereotype that society looks upon, and different individuals use music as an emotional blanket with all sorts of emotions which creates one’s own personality, behavior and the way he or she thinks.

Heavy metal derives its sound from a fusion of Blues, Rock, and guitar distortion. This style of music generates from pure energy and emotion whom like every other generation was actively seeking a way of escaping from their parental influences. In a typical heavy metal concert, the beat and lyrics effect people in ways such that the kids get hyped up and excited even sometimes aggressive, pushing each other and screaming the lyrics with hate with their every ounce of energy. Heavy metal is defined by a person that some feel as very “spooky,” in turn means that the person dresses in all black, chains, dog collars and have long, black spiked hair. A heavy metal fan evokes an entirely different mental image for me compared to a classical music buff or someone who likes religious music....
