b. The five factor model is a trait theory that explains personality in terms of the big five model, which is composed of openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.

i. Openness: People who rate high in this factor are original, imaginative, curious, open to new ideas, artistic, and interested in cultural pursuits.

ii. Conscientiousness: This factor ranges from responsible, self disciplined, organized, and achieving at the high end to irresponsible.

iii. Extroversion: This factor contrasts people who are sociable, outgoing, talkative, fun loving, and affectionate at the high end with introverted individuals who tend to be withdrawn, quiet, passive, and reserved at the low end.

iv. Agreeableness: Individuals who score high in this factor are good-natured, warm, gentle, cooperative, trusting, and helpful, whereas low scorers are irritable, argumentative, ruthless, suspicious, uncooperative, and vindictive.

v. Neuroticism: People who score high in neuroticism are emotionally unstable and prone to insecurity, anxiety, guilt, worry, and moodiness. People at the other end are emotionally stable, calm, even-tempered, easy going, and relaxed.

c. I think it is pointless to use the five-factor model on adolescents because they are changing from a child to an adult. In most cases, depending on the amount of maturity, most children differ in personality compared to adults.
