Answer the following questions:

* What is a resource?

* A resource isn’t just one specific thing but could be many. For example, it could be a person, a group, specific skills, material used to accomplish a task, equipment, activities, etc. A resource is pretty much anything that is used to accomplish a project.

* Why aren't resources assigned to summary tasks?

* Because if the resources are assigned to the summary task then they will be assigned to each subtask and that won’t help. It will actually throw off the planning for that project.

* What is the difference between Start, Prorated and End in association with costs?

* That cost that it was started with is the Start, prorated is paid up front, and what is paid at the end is the end cost.

* Give a real-world example of the difference between a fixed cost and a cost per use?

* An example for fixed cost is “our wiring is being done via a contractor. And the example for cost per use is “if you have a piece of equipment delivered to a construction site, you might be charged a delivery fee for the equipment, the delivery fee is the cost per use.”

* Why is a fixed cost entered with the task and not the resource?

* The reason why the fixed cost is entered with the task and not the resource is because, one that is hard to discem is the cost per use.

* Why is the resource cost for the Wiring Contractor $0.00?

* The wiring contractor is at $0.00 is because it’s a fixed cost. And they could choose to pay until the project is completed.

* Which resource is Overallocated and why?

* If there are two task assigned for example (Task 1& Task 2) and they are both scheduled to happen on the same day and both are 8 hours that’s when a resource over allocation occurs. I would say that the Project Manager is the one that caused the overallocation.
