WHAT IS BAIDU AND WHAT MADE HER A GREAT SUCCESS IN CHINA?
Li gets prepped for his speech at the annual Baidu World conference in Beijing,
Bloomberg Business Week, Andrew Rowat.
Yahoo!, a search engine. Google, a generally known for it’s better-performed
search engine. Their rivals, Baidu, is often described as the “Chinese Google”, as
Baidu define themselves as a service engine that understands Mandarin Chinese the
best.
What did we learn from this case study?
Baidu was incubated by two inventors into a NASDAQ-listed and successful
company in just 10 years time. Although the business is somehow geographically
limited and it’s business model draws some negative critics, as a whole, Baidu showed
great victory over it’s local and international competitors in it’s operation field. Both
entrepreneurs, Robin Li and Eric Xu knew what the company really needs and they
laid very concrete foundation for the company by bringing in the right investors and...
