* Consider the following scenario:

* As a network administrator for a company, you want to configure an IP route between two routers. Of static and dynamic routing, which is more appropriate?

* Explain your answer in 200 to 300 words.

I think for businesses or other organizations requiring regular use of a network static IP addressing would provide the best solution to the IP routing between two routers. While dynamic IP addressing will meet the needs of those using a network for casual internet usage such as browsing, off-site email use, instant messaging, and the uploading and downloading of files. However, for businesses looking to run their own network, provide on-site email, or make use of a virtual private network, then static IP addressing is the best method for implementation.

Static IP addressing provides a constant, more reliable connection than dynamic IP addressing. If running a web server or servers static IP addressing also provides higher upload and download speeds than similarly rated dynamic IP addresses. Although there is somewhat of a security risk by maintaining the same IP address at all times in comparison to having a dynamic IP address one major consideration somewhat evens the scale when considering the use of static IP addressing for businesses. When using a dynamic IP address, one is essentially sharing hat IP address with another company. If this company utilizes its internet connection to blast spam or other unwanted activities online this can cause the IP address you are sharing to become blacklisted. Also if making us of VPNs the networks static IP can be hidden from public view in order to minimize the security risk of maintaining the same IP address.
