Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to prepare a plan that would increase the motivation, satisfaction, and performance of the team that can be applied in a business setting. The writer will address specific differences in attitudes, emotions, personalities, and values that were discovered in the team collaboration, as well as each difference influences behavior.

The purpose of this paper is to prepare a plan that would increase the motivation, satisfaction, and performance of the team that can be applied in a business setting. Herein, we will address specific differences in attitudes, emotions, personalities, and values that were discovered in the team collaboration, as well as each difference influences behavior.

Motivation, as a concept within the context of this research, is considered by many to by one of the most important aspects of individual and team dynamics. So then we must ask ourselves an important question: “What is motivation?” and “How does it apply?” According to the authors of Organizational Behavior, “Many people incorrectly view motivation as a personal trait—that is, some have it and others don’t.” In reality there are underlying factors that drive motivation that differ from person to person. According to the previously mentioned book, “We define motivation as the processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal.”(Robbins & Judge, 2007) Motivation is of course, only one important factor yet it plays a very significant function in enhancing effectiveness and increasing productivity. Maintaining an open dialog with team members can boost drive in addition to enhancing motivation.
