Background

Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is a venue comprising part of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. It opened in October 2004

With the mission of Bringing People Together Through Swing, To Have a Profoundly Good Time. JALC produces a year-round schedule of performance, education and broadcast events for audiences of all ages. Their annual operating budget is around 38 million dollars and produces over 3,000 events each year, including concerts, national and international tours, residencies radio and television programs publications, an annual high school jazz band competition and festival.

The organization had raised $131 million between 1998 and 2004 to construct its new home, Frederick P. Rose Hall, shifting from merely presenting concerts to managing venues.

ALC's Frederick P. Rose Hall consists of three main music performance venues:

Rose Theater, with 1,233 seats for a variety of events, from performances to presentations,.

The Allen Room with 427seating, ideal location for receptions and seated dinners.

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, is with 144 seating, An intimate room designed specifically to accommodate live jazz.

The hall also contains the Atrium: Education Center with rehearsal and recording rooms.
