Armando Walle

Armando Walle is a member of the legislative branch, the Texas House of Representatives. Walle was elected in 2008 to represent House District 140. Before Walle became a legislator he worked six years for Congressman Gene Green. He also worked for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Councilmember Carol Mims Galloway. Walle started his public service career off by partaking in the Texas Legislative Internship Program that was led by Senator Rodney Ellis.

Walle, married to Debbie Dimas Walle, was born and raised in Houston, Texas by a single mother, whom raised a family of 5. He graduated from MacArthur High School and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Houston. Armando Walle has always been an active participant in community service. While attending the University of Houston, he was a part of the Center for Mexican American Studies Program and Students Aspiring to a Better Education. Now, Walle is a member of the Board of Directors for the Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA, President of the Ambassadors International Ballet Folklorico, and Chair of the Harris County Tejano Democrats.

As a legislator in the Texas House of Representatives, Walle serves on the Human Services, Rules and Resolutions, and Urban Affairs committees. The Human Services committee is working on HB 324, which relates to monetary assistance for substitute care provided to a child by a relative caregiver. The Rules and Resolutions Committee is currently working on HB 150, which congratulates Ashley Carruth Beal of Midland on being named the 2009-2010 Texas Bluebonnet Queen. Lastly, the Urban Affairs Committee is working on HB 1064, which relates to the length of time an eligibility list remains in effect for beginning positions in a fire department in certain municipalities under municipal civil service.
