The World Health Organization (WHO) is to account for about 5 to 25% of the healthy years of life that women bout the age of 15 to 44 to have lost years of healthy life. About twenty years ago we did not considered that the violence against women was not a considered as an issue worthy of international attention or concern (Hague, G., & Bridge, S. 2008). Then this stared to change in the 1980 as women’s groups us being organized locally and internationally to attention to the physical, psychological, and the economic abuse of women. It took 20 years to have the legislation and the potentially preventive preventive measures. Then in the 1990 there was comprehensives laws the enforced and effective the resources that was allocated to help deal with the gender violence.

Domestic Violence is a big problem in the world today. One of the problems in the United States is that the Korean immigrant woman has a serious problem with domestic violence. The frequency of domestic violence and predictive factors of domestic violence. There has been about one hundred and six Korean woman did a questionnaires and they found out that domestic violence is a major problem with Korean immigrant woman (Asay, S. (2011). The Korean immigrant is one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in the United States. Domestic Violence has be viewed in the United States as a social problem for over 30 years but it did not become a major concern among the Korean immigrants until the middle of the 1980s ( Asay, S. 2011).

In the Los Angeles women’s shelter’s the majority of the Domestic violence is ageist the Asian and Korean immigrants. “The Asian Pacific services of Los Angeles reported that 15% of the telephone counseling the agency provided to the Koreans addressed issues of domestic violence” (Asay, S. 2011).
