Tracing God

The story in Tracing God is quite very similar to what I have experienced. Yet I was not as inquisitive as he was when he was eight, I did ask some questions regarding God’s mystery. I did remember that when I ask my parents about God and they cannot answer it. They always tell me that it was mystery and that we could not comprehend God’s ways. Also when something bad happens, my mom would reassure me that God has His purpose letting that happened. It was that God’s wisdom is so complicated and is beyond the understandings of humans. Anyway, I really like how the philosophy professor explained the gift of receiving and not grasping. “Receiving preserves the original state and condition of the gift, while grasping or grabbing, does something to that which is grasped. The object is forced to take on a shape for grasping to succeed.” We humans try to reason out things about God. But He is beyond reasons and we cannot truly explain His existence. Also what he said about how skeptics and atheist are not claiming that there is no God but that the arguments for God are flawed. No one has the last say on God. We are just humans who are imperfect and God gave us the choice to either believe in Him or just shun away from Him. As he said our knowledge about God will always be inadequate but atleast we are not left in the dark, ignorant for we understand some that has been revealed.
