Deconstructing an advertisement

Advertisement I have chosen, the first few adjectives that would most probably appear in your thoughts while reading this advertisement would be captivating, convincing, colourful, factual and persuasive. In detail, this advertisement is captivating in the sense of its ability to hold the reader’s interest through the creative design with bright and bold writings. Apart from that, the facts used in this advertisement seem very convincing. This is because, the pictures used are based on real-life results and this gives the readers and potential customers a guarantee that this company advertising this is trustable. Speaking of colourful, the background is in black which naturally tends to highlight other bright fonts used. For example, the price of this treatment, the Hari Raya Promotion offer and “Choose any part to slim” statement seem to be more eye-catching. No doubt, this advertisement is very factual too. The display of the price with the Hari Raya Promotion makes the message clearer that the treatment will be cheaper throughout this festive season. This also indirectly says that readers are highly encouraged to sign-up for the treatment during this offer period as the prices would be very much higher once the offer ends. Not to mention, this advertisement is persuasive. This is proven by the designer who cleverly states “Choose any part to slim”, this line gives their potential customers the freedom and authority to choose which part of their body they want to slim down. Personally, this statement seems to be exclusive and rare as many other slimming companies do not provide such offer and their offer promotion comes in a package where the fat-reduction parts are pre-stated and it cannot be changed. Hence, the idea of this slimming company to give their customers the authority may result in a higher customer rate in through this advertisement.
