ASSIGNMENT
How will you use scripture to formulate your own business-leadership philosophy as it pertains to e-commerce?
E-commerce is a rapidly growing market in the global business world. As a business leader within this market; Christianity would be my guide in ensuring that I implement and maintain a successful organization. In the new global business environment of today, it is most imperative that a company plans out its path before being introduced to the market place. Due to the increase in technology that has enabled a company to market overseas, the amount of competitors and hazards, which await a company, have increased dramatically, therefore the importance of planning has become even more crucial. It is the responsibility of leadership to plan accordingly before taking on any new venture. In proverbs 19:2 it states, “Also that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth: (KJV). As a Christian leader it is my responsibility to research and educate myself on any business path I plan, and not create anything half hazard.
Once business has been established I will need to ensure that I am creating the right culture and attitude within my organization. A leader of an organization is the individual who guides directions, influences the course of actions, and opinions. Christian leadership is about creating a culture based on integrity and respect, not a culture based on dealing with the crisis of the day. It is important for a leader to promote the development of a constructive culture and to explain and communicate that culture to subordinates. Leaders often know exactly what they value in their jobs and recognize their ethical behavior in their position (Unknown, 2005).
