Cancer is a huge burden of disease worldwide especially in western culture. Each year, millions of people are diagnosed with cancer around the world, and more than half of the patients die from it. Statistics show that cancer ranks one of most common causes of death along with cardiovascular diseases and strokes.

There is a huge impact that cancer has on a global scale from disease to the cost of treatment to the impact of the economies. There has been significant improvement in treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases and strokes, which in turn cancer will soon become the number one killer in many parts of the world.

There seems to be many solutions to the health problems in the US and the rest of the world that most people don’t practice. One of the main solutions that seem to be the most cost effective and simple would be daily exercise and nutrition. Issues need to be addressed in the tobacco industry regarding the effects of promoting cigarette’s and nicotine. We have a food industry that is full of preservatives, high fat, and refined sugar, high in calories, and a large consumption of animal products that all promote the growth of cancer. Also the environmental aspect needs to be addressed like smog, chemicals we breathe in on a daily basis, water we drink, and many more.

Over all I think that cancer and most other non-communicable diseases can be overcome with research and awareness about the topic. Also to follow health tips to live a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition and good medical care.
