2E Li Jenna Ho Yue – Music concert report

Concert name: Albert Au 35TH Anniversary Concert

Date and Time: April 27, 2012 (Fri),8:00pm -11:45pm

Place: Queen Elizabeth Stadium

Music: Oldies, hymns and folk songs (mostly English)

Singers and gests: Albert Au(區瑞強), Ruth Chen(曾路得), Hacken Lee(李克勤)

General reaction: I liked the combination of the folk songs with the sound of the piano and guitar, I enjoyed the music and the soft voice of the singers.

Composition I like the most:

There was a Japanese song I liked the most, which is called "Oshin", this song was taught by Albert’s Japanese classmate when they were form.3, this song meant ‘wind’ in English, I liked this song because the tone of this song is soft and the mood was relax, although I do not know the languages used in this song but I really can feel the wind. On the other side I also liked the song called ”Perhaps love”, which was a symbol of Albert, he sings this song almost every Sunday night at the radio show. I enjoyed the lyrics because they were meaningful and romantic, I also enjoyed the piano solo by Albert’s partners ----Vinci and Laurence, the piano solo was amazing, the melody was played fluently. In the last of the concert , Albert sang another song as ending theme that he wrote by himself, it was really good to have a self-written song as a full ending in a concert like this ,I felt very warm when I heard this song as the lyrics was about Albert thanking for all the support for his fans and the song was also about the environment and the generations of humans , for me as an example, my grandmother and my mother were fans of Albert Au, and now they brought me to listen to his singing, this song is really meaningful to all of us ,it also show that how our environment is linked to us ,I liked this ending so much!

Performance of this work:

It was awesome to have Albert on a live show, as I had never heard his singing and saw him before but only listened to his show...
