An effective team is built upon communication, participation, commitment, and team member support. A team can be defined as “a small quantity of people with paired skills who are committed to a common purpose, set of performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable.” In order for a team to function at the full performance level the members must possess three core skill sets e.g.; technical or functional expertise, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and interpersonal skills. To provide structure, identify roles, and develop cohesion within team “A” we designed a team charter. The team charter is a record that defines the team’s mission, clarifies requirements or expectations, and improves functionality within the team. This tool will enable a team to define a team leader, define goals and objectives, and to plan and identify roles while effectively communicating within the group.

The Jungian Personality Assessments (JPA) completed by members of team “A” determined the member’s four different personality types to be ESTP, ENFP, ENTJ, and ISTJ. According to the assessment a person personality is either introverted or extroverted. Group A’s members consist of extraverted sensing, extraverted intuition, extraverted thinking, and introverted sensing respectively. The JPA tests an individual’s behavioral patterns, feelings, and opinions.  The assessment test emerged from the research of Carl Jung’s on personality [types and personality research of Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs. Jung's theory suggests there are fundamental ways in which individuals associate, think, and interact in society.
