Abstract
Making a conscious decision is very important in any business. The reason behind any decision in my experience has to be supported and have good reasoning as to why it was made. In the situation pertaining to the natural disaster and the retail business owner, I strongly agree that Brian should not give Lilly’s job back. Lilly decided on her own to quit her job because she felt that Brian who owns the motel decided to raise the prices for the rooms. When Lilly told Brian what she was going to do if he raised the prices, he responded very well by tell her that she will have to do what she has to do. In my opinion that was a very good response on Brian’s part. Rehiring Lilly would be a mistake because if another situation comes up where Brian wants to make a command decision to benefit the business and Lilly doesn’t agree he has to risk losing her again.

Brian’s decision to raise the prices on the Motel rates was in my opinion from an ethical egoist approach.
