1. What do you see as the most important or most interesting aspects of this graduate program on global education or international business in the twenty first century environment? In what ways have you seen managers’ roles change from a global perspective over the past 10-20 years and how is online connection related to such changes?

2. How can the diverse backgrounds (interests, hobbies, professions, race, age, nationality, place of birth, religion, academic background, global experience, etc.) represented by the students in this class contribute to your learning?

3. Discuss the differences of the various names given to firms that have substantial operations in more than one country such as a global company, a multinational firm and an international company. Specially mention each name, define it, and compare it with others.

4. Discuss how / why international business differs from domestic business.

9. You are the Human Resource Director, Global Services, of a large multinational in the oil industry. You are concerned for the safety of 15 expatriate staff currently working in the oilfields in a Middle Eastern country, given the political volatility of the area. Devise a set of policies and procedures that will enable you to evacuate all 15 persons should the need arise.
